
Madison Schiller
Data Scientist, Minnesota Lynx
Madison Schiller is in her second year with the Minnesota Lynx as the team’s first data scientist. Schiller supports the coaching and front office staff with her data and computer science skills to provide a competitive advantage. Before coming to the Lynx, she worked with the Phoenix Suns as their basketball research and strategy analyst intern. Through this role, she completed several basketball operations projects and dashboards for the Suns coaching staff, front office, and strength/conditioning staff. Throughout her career with the Suns and now the Lynx, she has had the opportunity to pursue two of her greatest passions: sports and technology. Prior to her time with the Suns, Schiller was a Pathways STEM student in the Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division (NAWCWD) where she was a part of the FA/18 Tools Team. In this role she helped develop a software tool in Perl Script. She also was a part of several projects, including the development of various software plugins, educational software teachings and a self-help training website for her colleagues and other engineers at the NAWCWD. Schiller graduated an award-winning Summa Cum Laude student athlete from California State University East Bay with her bachelor’s degree in computer science in 2020 and her Master of Science in business analytics in 2022. Throughout her time at CSUEB, Madison played DII basketball for the Pioneers and earned numerous academic and athletic awards including CCAA Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year and the Female Athlete of the Year in her final season. Schiller was also the CCAA National Student-Athlete Advisory Committee Representative for three years of her college career.
